The Museum Within Me: 365 Black & White Polaroids

While allowing serendipity to play a major role, I experiment with and utilise the space between digital control and the unpredictability of the instant developing process to make photographs of artefacts, exhibitions, everyday objects, landscapes, found situations and the natural world.
The intimate and small scale photographic work that I am currently working on is the result of combining digital and instant photography using a Polaroid camera and a Lab printer.
I particularly like the unpredictability and the itinerant quality of instant photography. Furthermore I appreciate how time unfolds in this mode of image production and the qualities of its outcomes: blacks, greys and whites, physical, modest, and sometimes poetic.
My growing body of photographs are the starting point for new explorations and the production of new work using a variety of media such as video and printmaking.
The Polaroids are published daily for a year on Instagram, ultimately leading to a publication with a collection of 365 photographs that will reveal my particular visual interests.
